Paul Strandness has devoted his entire legal career to helping injured people and their families across the Upper Midwest. He has a wide range of legal experience, and has represented victims of motor vehicle accidents, defective products, toxic substances, and medical negligence. He has extensive experience representing injured railroad workers under the Federal Employers' Liability Act and has also served as an arbitrator in numerous no-fault insurance disputes.

In 1969, Paul graduated cum laude from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He returned to Minnesota in 1971 and attended the University of Minnesota Law School. In 1975, he received his law degree and was admitted to the Bar.

Paul is a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association, the Hennepin County and Minnesota State Bar Associations, the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He is also certified to the rigorous standards of the National Board of Trial Advocacy, which certifies lawyers nationally for expertise in civil trial matters.

One of the highlights of his career was arguing a product liability case before the United States Supreme Court. Weisgram v. Marley Co., 528 U.S. 440 (2000).

Paul is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts of Minnesota and North Dakota, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has represented clients in state and federal court in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska.
